Since the protest movements of the 1960s, architectural theory has developed in close dialogue with continental philosophy and the social sciences. This workshop explores left-wing streams in architectural thought and asks which texts could help us think about the current crisis in architecture and urban planning. Distinguished architecture historians and theorists such as Mary McLeod, Joan Ockman, Mark Crinson, Hilde Heynen, Luka Skanski, Andrew Leach, Monika Mitášová, Michael Hauser and Jana Ndiaye Beránková will give talks on Henri Lefebvre, Manfredo Tafuri, Kenneth Frampton and the Frankfurt School.
Moderated by Juliana Sokolová, Lynda Zein, Jana Ndiaye Beránková and Michael Hauser.
The event is organized by the Institute of Philosophy of the Czech Academy of Sciences, in collaboration with the VIPER gallery, and Suture Press.
